What did you learn about your learning style and how it leads to a leadership style…how can you use your new knowledge in your studies alone and with your cohort?
"How many stairs are there in the Lillis Building?"
Who knew a question could be an answer? Walking into class the question above was asked, when it was asked some of my peers pondered while others ran right out of the room with me to start counting. The exercise taught me that I am more of a hands on learner, I need to experience something for it to translate into my brain and stick. While others tried to think logically and use maps to make educated guesses I was literally walking up and down stair cases counting each step one by one.
Figuring out my learning style helped me see the resemblance in my leadership style. When I lead I don't take into account important aspects, instead I can just have an idea and execute it with out planning. I "act before I think." Having learned this new information about myself has led me to think before I act. It also has helped me with my cohort, not everyone has the same learning/leading style, so collaborating with the different styles can lead to something great rather than having clashing styles; but situations will not always group different styles together, therefore, you need to adapt and be able to change.
